BIBLE REACHING/ TEACHING GROUPS (SUNDAY SCHOOL)
Sunday school is not only for children! We believe that everybody benefits from being in a small group Bible study where they can meet other people who want to grow in their walk with God and understanding of the Bible. We have Sunday school classes for all ages, including men's', women's' and couples classes. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 on Sunday morning. The Sunday school lessons are designed to help people better understand and apply the Bible to life.
NURSERY/ PRESCHOOL MINISTRY
Nursery is provided during all services for infants and children through age three. Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, happy, loving, Christ centered environment staffed with people who care for our children. The nursery and preschool rooms open fifteen minutes before the start of services. Our nursery and preschool coordinator is Brook Lamm.
CHILDREN
Children are a blessing from God, and we consider it a privilege to minister to them. Jesus told us that we are to do our part in bringing children to Him (Matthew 19:14). At Great Neck, we want to provide a loving environment where children are taught the Bible and nurtured in faith. In order to do this we emphasize the following ministries Sunday School Sunday school begins at 9:30am on Sunday morning. Children’s Church On Sunday mornings, children age four through third grade are led in an age relevant worship time. Bible stories, singing, praying, and various activities are used to help reach and teach children about God’s love.
AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) 2 Timothy 2:15
On Wednesday evenings from 6- 7:30pm, trained leaders guide children through the Bible using age-appropriate materials. The goal of AWANAs is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. Games, Bible messages, and scripture memory are all a part of AWANAs. This program is designed for children age three through sixth grade, and meets from September to June.
STUDENT MINISTRY
Student ministry is geared to helping middle and high school youth become Christ-like in attitude, beliefs and behavior. Youth Ministry Goals: 1) To see God change the hearts of our youth so that they joyfully claim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. 2) To see spiritual growth in our youth leading to a life dedicated to Jesus Christ and service through a local New Testament Church. Student meeting times are Sunday morning Bible study @ 9:30am, and Wednesday evening activities beginning at 6:15. We have several extra activities each month. Fun nights range from laser tag to lock-ins, football to flashlight tag, and movie nights to messy games. We also participate in mission activities which have included serving a Judeo Christian Outreach Center, packing chaplain kit to go overseas to our military personnel, and participating in many church wide outreach and mission events. MUSIC/ WORSHIP MINISTRY
Praising God in song is an essential component of worship. “Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints.” (Psalm 149:1) Our music ministry is looking for anyone interested in singing, joining the choir, playing an instrument or working the sound ministry. Choir rehearsal is on Wednesday night at 7:30.
ADULT MINISTRIES
At different times of the year we promote various ministries to women, men and families such as Bible studies and retreats in order to help them reach their God given potential through Christ.
